The finals of the Walker Fourball and the Roy Morris Trophy were played on Saturday and as expected it was a tough match Ivan Karaitiana & Chris Wenden up against Laurence Butler & Paul Haxton. The match went right to the wire with Ivan & Chris winning on the 18th. In the Roy Morris James Jackson & Mike King were easy victors over Allan Biel & Ken Downing.
Saturdays Club competition was a Medal round and in Group 1 Ray Cocks was first with nett 66, followed by Shane Stewart on 68 and Troy Shaw on nett 71. In Group 2 Kevin Gibbs had the round of the day and easily won the group with a nett 64. Shane Hawkins was second with nett 68 followed by Graham Duckett on nett 71. Holes in two were scored by Rod Dravitzki, Troy Shaw and Phil Granich who got two of them. Nearest the pins went to Ray Cocks, Laurence Butler, Phil Granich, Ivan Karaitiana, Jason Walker and Chris Wenden.
The competition on Sunday was a par round and first was Frankie Martin on 4up, followed by Mike King on 3 up, with Paul Beech & Darryl Coley next both with 1 up.
The vets played a Stableford round on Tuesday and in the men’s division Kevin May was first with 34 points with Garth Ramsden second with 33 points and Ross Ireland third with 31 points. In the ladies division Nan McNae was first with 32 points and Janet Shaw was next with 31 points. Nearest to the pins went to Nan McNae and Blair Harvey.
This Saturday is Eagles Day at Mahunga so bring along things for the auction after golf. All proceeds on the day go to the Halberg Disability Sports Foundation. The competition on Saturday is a Stableford round and Sunday is a Stableford round also.
