Saturday was the first round of qualifying for Club Champs and the Club competition was a Stableford round. The scoring was good and tight with lots of count backs as would be expected. In Group 1 first was Jeremy Harp with nett 65 which was the round of the day. Second on count back was Wayne Evans with nett 67, from Kavan Walker also 67, followed by Ivan Karaitiana with nett 72 and Troy Shaw with nett 73. In Group 2 it was even tighter and first on count back was Laurence Butler with nett 69 from Kevin Gibbs also on 69 and they were followed by Mike King, Alan Biel & Bobby Kahui all on nett 70. Holes in two were scored by Troy Shaw and Shane Stewart. The nearest the pins went to Rod Dravitzki, Shane Stewart Troy Shaw, Robin “I missed my 2” Britt, and Chris Wenden.
On Tuesday the Vets played a Stableford round and in the ladies Nan McNae was first with 29 points and she was well clear of Janet Shaw with 29 points. For the men Roy Brider was first with 33 points and was followed by Ross Ireland with 30 points. Nearest the pins went to Roy Brider and Nan McNae.
This weekend there is another round of Club Champs qualifying on Saturday and the Club competition is a medal round and on Sunday the competition is a Bisque Par.
