Saturday saw the semi-finals of the Walker Fourball and the Roy Morris and there were some very good matches that went down to the wire and beyond even with the continual rain.. The Walker semi-final with Shane Hawkins & Bill Ousey playing Ivan Karaitiana & Chris Wendon was closely fought. Ivan was giving plenty of shots in the match being on scratch but it wasn't until the 19th hole that Hawkins and Ousey prevailed. The other semi-final saw Ray Cocks & Neville Biel playing Terry Fleet & Ian Grant, with Cocks & Biel winning on the 17th hole. In the Roy Morris Stu Northe & Carl Cocks beat Byron Karaitiana & Hiro Maeno and in the other semi Shane Stewart & Graham Duckett beat Martin Andrew.
Saturdays competition was a Medal round and first with a nett 69 Stu Northe and he was well clear of Bill Ousey and Ivan Karaitiana with nett 73 and Graham Duckett with nett 74. There were no holes in two and the nearest to the pins went to Ivan Karaitiana and Ian Grant.
On Tuesday the vets played a par round and in the men's division Ross Ireland was an easy winner on 7 up from Eddie Tuuta on 1 up. In the ladies Lyn Morrel was 2 up from Janet Shaw on 1 down. For the 9 holer's Blair Harvey was the winner on 1 up from Peter Campbell on 1 down. Nearest the pins went to Lyn Morrel and Ross Ireland.
