Team Karaitiana Do It Easy in Walker Fourball Final
In what was shaping up to be a highlight of the year as far as Mahunga club competitions go turned into a fizzer on Saturday with Ivan & Byron Karaitiana easily winning the Walker Fourball final. Graeme Dick and Brett Sargent were no match for the Karaitiana father and son duo who dished out a good old thrashing winning 8 and 7. It was a different result in the Roy Morris Trophy though with Darryl Coley and Anita Karaitiana winning their match on the 18th two up against their opposition Ray Cocks and Neville Biel. Unfortunately Ray had to play this fourball match on his own so he did very well to take the match all the way to the 18th.

In group two Kevin May found some form with a nett 68, followed by Frankie Martin with nett 70 and Karl Churchwood with nett 72. Holes in two were scored by Byron Karaitiana, Karl Churchward, Rod Dravitzki, Damian Kauika and Anita Karaitiana. Nearest the pins went to Ivan Karaitiana, Meki Lauvi, Karl Churchward, Byron Karaitiana, Jeremy Harp and Rod Dravitzki.
