Stevenson Scores Hole in One

Tuesday saw perfect conditions for the Vets Stableford round and Nolene Stevenson used a perfect  5 iron with a nice little draw on it to score a hole in one on the par 3 sixth hole at Mahunga.  It is Nolene's second hole in one after getting one at Carterton many years ago, so congratulations to her.  In the men's group Eddie Tuuta and Terry Tacon were tied with 35 points each.  In the ladies group Nan McNae was the winner with 39 points from Nolene Stevenson with 35.  For the 9 holer's Betty Loader and Janet Campbell both had 15 points.  Nearest the pins went to Nan McNae, Nolene Stevenson and Terry Tacon.

Saturday was another qualifying round for club champs and the club competition was a medal round.  In group 1 first was Stu Northe with a nett 6, followed by Rod Dravitzki and Zeb Livingston both with nett 70.  Group 2 saw Laurence Butler lead the way with a nett 68 from Neville Biel and Shane Hawkins both with nett 69.  Group 3 was a bit more open and Graham Duckett cleaned up with a nett 68 from Terry Fleet on nett 70 and Maurice O'Reilly on nett 73.  Holes in two were scored by Phillip Granich, Ray Cocks and Graham Duckett.  Nearest to the pins went to Terry Fleet, Haira Paku, Phillip Granich, Anita Karaitiana, Troy Shaw and Ray Cocks.

This Saturday sees the opening of the new bar and so we are holding an American Foursomes tournament to celebrate.  Entry is $35.00 and this includes a hangi to follow the round.  Tee off is at 11.00am and we will be using multiple tees so that everyone comes in together and can join in the camaraderie.  Entries will be taken on the day.

On Sunday the competition of the day is a Par round.
