On Saturday at Mahunga the competition of the day was Medal & Putting. In the medal competition first was Michelle Coley with a nett 72 closely followed by Maurice O'Reilly with nett 73. Third was Cheycoda Cocks on nett 77 followed by Kevin May on nett 78. In the putting competition the ladies ruled and first was Michelle Coley with 25 putts followed by Cheycoda Cocks with 28 putts and Noelene Stevenson with 29 putts. Michelle Coley got the only hole in two thanks to a chip in, and for the first time ever no one got any of the nearest to the pins.
Saturday also saw the next round of Men's inter club and the division 3 team had a good away win at Wainuiomata winning 9.5 matches to 5.5 and they now have a healthy 9.5 point lead overall with one round remaining. The division 8 team had a 10.5 to 4.5 win over Waikanae at home.
Sundays competition was a Bisque Par and Carl Cocks won on countback with 2 up from Terry Fleet on 2 up and Frankie Martin was third on 1 up. Paul Beech scored the only hole in two.
On Tuesday the vets played a Bisque Par also and in the men's group first was Doug Simpson on 6 up from Blair Harvey on 4 up and Ross Ireland on 3 up. In the ladies first was Janet Campbell on 9 up followed by Janet Shaw and Cilva Richmond both on 5 up. Nearest the pins went to Nan McNae, Blair Harvey and Doug Simpson, and Blair Harvey got the only hole in two.
This weekend sees a stableford round on both Saturday and Sunday for the club competition, and on Sunday is the third round of the Marquis Shield and Mahunga are playing Carterton at Carterton with tee off at 11am.
