On Sunday the club competition was a stableford round off the green tees. First was Laurence Butler with 41 points and he was well clear of Shane Stewart who got second on count back with 33 points from Brett Armour. Holes in two were scored by Brett Armour and Laurence Butler.
On Tuesday the Vets played a stableford competition and the winners of the Vets Club Champs were decided. For the men Ken Downing was first with 35 points from Terry Adamson and Alan Allsworth both with 32 points. For the ladies Yvonne Allsworth was first with 35 points from Maria Lauvi with 31 points. Nearest the pins went to Yvonne Allsworth, Maria Lauvi, Roy Brider and Meki Lauvi. Charles Scanlan was the winner of the men’s Vets Club Championship beating Derek Bentley and Michelle Coley was the winner of the ladies Vets Club Championship.
This Saturday the club competition is a stableford round and is also the final of the Mahunga Points Cup. The top 20 contenders in order are: Michelle Coley, Roy Brider, Terry Adamson, Malcolm Benseman, Kevin Gibbs, Jason Walker, Ross Ireland, Kevin Jury, Meki Lauvi, Steve Blundsen, Paul Haxton, Shane Hawkins, Ivan Karaitiana, Bobby Kahui, Ian Grant, Matt Paku, Ray Cocks, Damion Kauika, Laurence Butler & Phil Granich. Reserves are Mark Logan, Bill Ousey and Anita Karaitiana. If you can’t play please let the club know.
Also on Saturday is the annual Eagles fundraiser for the Halberg Foundation that helps support the disabled with their sports. It is a worthy cause so join in the club competition and bring a gift to be auctioned at prize giving so that we can raise plenty of money for the Foundation. Tee off is at 11.00am as usual for club day.
