Saturday saw the semi finals of the Club Championships and the club competition was a stableford round. The scoring was not that great as would be expected with matches being played out as well. In group 1 Jeremy Harp led the pack with 34 points, followed by Wayne Evans with 32 points and Anita Karaitiana with 30 points. In group 2 Michelle Coley was first with 32 points, Kevin Gibbs was second with 31 points and Chic Reiri third with 30 points. In group 3 Terry Adamson was first on count back with 34 points from Graham Duckett also on 34. Layton Kawana was next with 31 points. Nearest the pins went to Terry Adamson, Terry Fleet, Peter Hawkins, Jeremy Harp, Michelle Coley, Malcolm Benseman and Rod Dravitzki.
Sunday was also a stableford round and in group 1 first was Brent Doublewe with 40 points, with Anita Karaitiana second with 39 points, with Laurence Butler third with 36 points and Ivan Karaitiana fourth with 35 points. In group 2 Layton Kawana was first with 40 points, with Maurice O’Reilly second with 36 points, Terry Adamson third on 35 points and Steve Blundsen was fourth with 33 points. Terry Adamson scored a hole in two.
On Tuesday the vets played a stableford round and for the men Roy Brider was first with 35 points from Terry Adamson with 34 points and Meki Lauvi with 30 points. In the ladies division Michelle Coley was first with 31 points from Maria Lauvi with 29 points. Nearest the pins went to Nan McNae, Michelle Coley, Terry Adamson and Willie Wichman. Terry Adamson scored a hole in two.
This weekend will be the quietest in a while at Mahunga with the club competition medal rounds on both Saturday and Sunday.
