Saturday saw the annual Mahunga 3 Person Ambrose Tournament. There was some good scoring but the winners were the Young Guns team of Phil Granich, Isaac Walker and Kavan Walker with nett 56.3 They were well clear of Ivan Karaitaiana, Byron Karaitiana and Jeremy Harp with 58.2. Third was Rod Dravitzki, Jason Walker and Brett Sargent on 59.5 and fourth was Laurence Butler, Paul Haxton and Mike King with 60.7. A good day was had by all and once again thanks to our visitors.
On Sunday the Club competition was a Stableford round and first was Darryl Coley with 40 points, followed by Frankie Martin with 37 points and Laurence Butler with 35 points.
On Tuesday the Vet’s played a Par round and in the men’s division there was a congested leader board for the top spot with Ken Downing, Roy Brider and Ross Ireland all on 4 up. For the ladies Michelle Coley burnt it up and ended on 5 up with Janet Shaw a distant second on 3 down. Nearest the pins went to Michelle Coley and Roy Brider, and Roy also got three holes in two.
This weekend sees the start of some Club Championship matches on Saturday and the Club competition is a Medal round and on Sunday it is a Par round.
