Saturday saw a major working bee at the club so it was all hands on deck and there were very few golfers in the club competition which was a Stableford round. First was Stu Northe on 35 points and Rod Draviztki had 33 points. There were no holes in two and the nearest the pins went to Stu Northe, Rod Dravitzki and Shane Hawkins.
Sunday saw the third round of men's Marquis Shield at Carterton. Mahunga played Carterton at home and in the Marquis matches the honours were shared 6 matches all but Mahunga prevailed in the fourball matches 5 to 1, so came away with 3 of the 4 points available and lead the competition from Eketahuna. The club competition on Sunday was also a Stableford round and first on countback was Paul Haxton with 37 points, from Terry Fleet also with 37 points, and Stu Northe with 35 points.
On Tuesday the vets played a Stableford round and in the men's group first was Blair Harvey with 37 points followed by Eddie Tuuta on 32 points. In the ladies group first by lot with 27 points was Nan McNae from Janet Shaw. For the 9 holer's first was Betty Loader with 13 points followed by Peter Campbell with 12 points. Nearest the pins went to Blair Harvey, Terry Tacon and Noelene Stevenson who got two of them.
This weekend sees the final round of the men's interclub where the division 3 team play Miramar at home and the outcome should see Mahunga win the division. The division 8 team travel to Kapiti and will need a good result there to remain runner up in that group. Saturday's club competition is a Par round and on Sunday it is a Stableford round. Sunday also sees the ladies playing Tilson Salver at Carterton and they come up against Masterton. Good luck to all those representing the Club this weekend.
