Saturday saw the final round of the Greenaway cup competition. The best score on the day was posted
by Darryl and Michelle Coley with a 63 nett, with Layton Kawana and Cheycoda Cocks the runner’s up on
66 nett. For the Greenaway cup the winning score was 138 nett and that were scored by Darryl and
Michelle Coley, with Layton Kawana and Cheycoda Cocks the runner’s up on 139 nett.
The remainder of the field played in a stableford competition. In the first group it was Rod Dravitzki who
had the day’s best score of 44 points, with a gap back to Brett Sargent and Meki Lauvi on 38 points each.
In the second group Carl Churchward came out on top with 43 points, with the runners up spot shared
by Shane Hawkins and James Jackson on 41 points each.
The Makes Cents Accounting nearest to the pin on the first hole was taken out by Brett Sargent, with
Shane Hawkins taking the Liquorland Masterton one on the third hole, Meki Lauvi I the McAuleys
transport Ltd one on the sixth hole, Rod Dravitzki the Pak’N Save Masterton one on the eighth hole and
Anita Karaitiana who took out both the Alister Bruce Affordable Sheds one on the tenth hole and the
Dinah and Deb Keats Professionals Real Estate one on the seventeenth hole. There was one hole in two
scored on the day and that was by Carl Churchward.
Sunday’s club competition was a par round, which saw Terry Fleet come out on top with a score of six
up, followed by Ray Cocks on three up and then Laurence Butler on one up. There was one hole in two
scored on the day and that was by Terry Fleet.
On Tuesday the veterans group travelled away for their annual mystery trip, which I understand was to
the den of a golf club. The results have been available at the time of going to press.
This coming Saturday sees the men playing the first round of the Bill Woods trophy, with the
competition of the day being a stableford round.
