Saturday saw the first round of inter club for the men and the Division 3 team was at home to Masterton and scored an easy 12.5 to 2.5 win, while the Division 8 team was away to Paraparaumu and put up a good effort even though they lost 10 to 5.  So all in all a good start to the season.  Also on Saturday there was a club working bee and many were involved in that effort.  The club competition on Saturday was Stableford and it was the final rounds of the Summer Cup.  First was Cheycoda Cocks with 42 points, followed by Martin Andrew with 39 points, Ross Ireland with 36 points and Kevin May on 35.  The winner of the men's Summer Cup was David O'Reilly and the Ladies was Cheycoda Cocks.

Sunday also saw a Stableford round and first was Ray Cocks with 41 points from Mark Logan on 39 points and Haira Paku with 38 points.  Holes in two were scored on hole 6 by both Ray Cocks and Anita Karaitaiana.

On Tuesday the vets played a Stableford competition and in the men first was Peter Campbell with 42 points which is good scoring over 16 holes, second was Ross Ireland on 39 points, and third was Meki Lauvi on 38 points.  In the ladies Janet Shaw was the winner with 40 points followed by Maria Lauvi on 38 points and Nan McNae was third with 35 points.  The nine holer's section was won by Gordon Wilton.  Nearest the pins went to Meki Lauvi, Ross Ireland and Maria Lauvi.  Meki and Maria also scored holes in two.

This Saturday sees the Division 3 inter club play at home against Manor Park and Division 8 plays away at Miramar.  The club competition on Saturday is a stableford round and Sunday's is a Chicago Stableford.

Monday is Waitangi Day and is the Club's opening day.  The day is starting at 9.00am with a Champagne Breakfast followed by a 9 hole mini tournament off the White, Yellow & Green tees at 10.30am.  It will be a fun morning and is open to anyone interested in playing golf at Mahunga both existing members or if you are looking for a new challenge.  Come one come all.   Tickets for the Champagne Breakfast are available by ringing  Graeme Dick on 06-377 1852 if you want a ticket.
